Sets-up and operates thread rolling machine to roll
external threads on various types of fasteners.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include

thread roll equipment by selecting and installing proper threading dies in
machine and performing required machine settings by studying the part,
blueprints, specifications or instructions.
thread roll machines producing external roll threads in various types and sizes
of fasteners.Inspects parts for
dimension and tolerance according to blueprint.
die speeds and rolling cycles in order to produce parts to fulfill thread
requirements.Sets the proper heating
temperatures under the guidance of supervisory personnel.
machine operating adjustments and regulates and controls such functions as
coolant flow, machine rate and related machine operations.Performs corrective action on machine
failures and informs lead when machine maintenance is needed.
threads on test parts to assure conformance to specifications, checks for such
factors as pitch, angle, length, diameter, and related factors.
defects in tooling, machinery, measuring instruments or equipment.

Education and/or Experience
Three years industrial experience in the set-up and operation of thread
roll machines.Ability to read
blueprints and use measuring instruments.
to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words and to recognize
similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers.Ability to print and speak simple sentences.
to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole
numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in
written, oral, or diagram form.Ability
to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized
